Occupational Therapy
Supporting children to participate, learn and grow in everyday life.
Occupational Therapy at Power Kids Therapy Centre helps children develop skills for everyday activities at home, school, and in the community. Our therapists support children facing challenges with movement, coordination, sensory processing, and daily living skills through playful activities.
We believe that every child has unique strengths and potential. Our therapists work closely with families, teachers and support teams to create therapy plans that are tailored to each child’s individual goals.
How Occupational Therapy Can Help
Occupational Therapy supports children who experience difficulties with:
Fine motor skills – Drawing, handwriting, using scissors, etc.
Self-care skills – Dressing, toileting, feeding, personal hygiene.
Sensory processing and regulation
Attention, engagement and participation in activities
Play and social interaction
Coordination and motor planning
School readiness skills
Independence in everyday tasks
Our Approach
At Power Kids Therapy Centre, therapy is goal-focused and family-centred. Rather than following a single therapy
model, we work with families to identify goals that are meaningful for the child and their everyday life. Therapy sessions
are then designed to support those goals in the most effective way possible.
This may include:
- Play-based therapy activities
- Sensory strategies and regulation supports
- Functional skill development
- Environmental modifications
- Equipment or assistive technology recommendations
- Collaboration with parents, teachers and support workers
Our aim is to empower children to build independence and confidence across all environments.
